Years in the making....and still not done I have built this system over quite a few years. It was initially built around home theater, thus the Aragon Soundstage. Over the last year and a half or so it has worked its way to 2 channel and the results have been very, very good. I stumbled across both The Upgrade Company and Ridge Street Audio. After trying their products I found that both served the music exceptionally well and have continued to purchase their products. Both have been money well spent. I really like the Palladium 2 amps. Even in stock form they are very underrated IMO. The upgrades have just taken them up to another level. Within the last 2 months, I purchased the Summit monitors with the Path stands. These are truly exceptional speakers and are an absolute steal at their MSRP. It really is an ear opener to hear a speaker that does not induce cabinet coloration to the driver. You can simply hear farther into the music than I've ever experienced. I've successfully blended a Velodyne DD 12 with them to augment the low end, though they require suprisingly little help. I am considering a different preamp with this set up as even with the upgrades, I believe the soundstage is the weak point of the system. I am giving strong consideration to a Classe cp 60 which I will eventually send off to dave Schulte. |
