03-27-12: Acadie Hi Porters
I did not have a chance to listen to the Purity Statement or the Ultra but I am curious to do so. If they are better than the Reference, it is hard to imagine.
What I like about Purity Audio Design is the support that they give. The builder, Bill Baker is a super guy to deal with and so is the the guy who is responsable of the sale/marketing, Joe Jurzec.
Yes, the Purity is better than my previous linestage owned. Those were the Sim Audio P-5, Copland CTA-305, Space Tech Labs QA-808 and a Gamut C2R.
I also borrowed/demo at home these linestage: Wyetech Labs Pearl, Pass Labs XP-10 and a Bryston BP-26.
The Purity just sound right to my ears. The main reason I got the Purity is because I had a pair of Clayton M200 class A mono blcc. They were not a good match with the tube Space Tech Labs QA-808 I had.
I contact Joe Jurzec who happen to be a Clayton dealer. I asked him if he had a good linestage to match with the Clayton. He said that him and Bill Baker were coming up with a new linestage company and they were introducting the product at the Denver show in the Fall 2010. They said they were going to offer a great introductory price. I waited 6 months and made an order on the unit in Nov 2010 and received the unit in Feb 2011.
It was risky to get a product without listening to it but Joe offered me credit toward another linestage from his store if I did not like the Purity, which he said he really doubt i would not like that Purity Reference unit.
It was s risky move but I am happy I did.
B Noel
