DIY SET
Part stuff I bought (CD Player, Table, cart, phono preamp) and part stuff I built (integrated amplifier, speakers), the system gels nicely for what I want.
It won't shake the walls of my 12' x 20' room that is open to the rest of the house, but I never have the need to play it louder than it can go so it works for me. It has its limits but when it's in its sweet spot it's as smooth as silk and very satisfying. The Altecs in the big boxes give plenty of natural bass, and the Heils are a very pleasant surprise as I had never heard a pair before I biought these and hooked them up.
Thanks for looking.

What a great, fun system you've built. Lots more enjoyment when you built much of it yourself.

I've thought about a kit from Min, but I'm not sure any of his designs would have enough oomph for my DIY Tannoy HPD's (12" Dual Concentrics). Sure would like to, though.

Lots of great listening to you! Regards,
Dan

Thanks Dan.
One of the benefits of building is that you can tune it to what you prefer more easily. That's what I've been doing since I hit the "ON" switch 2 weeks ago ;)

Nice Job! I am sure the 91a is sound great with the big Altecs. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. Have you though about open baffles? Easy to build and might be just the ticket with the 2A3's
