Newbie system
It all started two years ago.
I started working after college and started to build my system, it replaced a cheap Sony integrated system.

I live in Chile were all the major brands i.e. Mark Levinson, Krell, etc. are available but at high prices, at least compared to the second hand market in the US.

I've been planning to upgrade, but slowly. I've realized that this is a hobby where upgrades are always wondering in your mind and where there will always be something better.

The system is located in my 23 x 13 x 9 room.

I enjoy it !!

Foxtrot, As long as YOU enjoy it, enjoy it! You do not have to please anyone else other then yourself.
Enjoy the music,
Dave

That's great! And don't feel rushed to upgrade everything. I'm going on 7 years and it's been a slow process. But one that you have to force yourself to stop and listen to music.

When I started out I always got excited looking at upgrades. Now I don't like upgrading because I have to audition and break stuff in. I'd rather have it all set up and just listen.

You will learn a lot on audiogon - just checking out the discussions.

Good Luck,

Rob

Thanks Rob,

I've learned quite some in the last two years since I've been a member of Audiogon.
I'm really new to tubes and wanted to see what it was all about and found this bargain in my trip so I bought it.

As a matter of fact I've promised myself not to upgrade for a while, next will be a new amp and pre...in a year or so.

Hey Foxtrot,
Your system was posted nearly two years ago. I'm wondering what, if any, changes you've made. I agree with your philosophy about listening to the music instead of worrying about next upgrade to system. I stopped making monthly changes a year ago and couldn't be happier. Enjoy.

Hi Timrhu,

I did buy a set of Whatmough home theater speakers about a year ago, they were inexpensive and they serve their purpose well.

In the short term I plan to buy new IC's from Signal Cable and in about six months buy a Rotel power and pre.

My philosophy is still to go slow !!!

Regards

How is the Caarver Amp. I love the way they looked and as a kid they were the apple of my eye.

System edited: Addes a pic, need to sell some stuff to get an SS integrated. I'm happy with the tube Consonance but could use both in my system.

Should also add that I'm only using the Consonance-Shanling combo. My iPod is also frequently used when friends come over.
The receiver is in my bedroom paired with two tower speakers making that a 2.0 HT system.
I have to sell the Carver 5 channel amp, it's been sitting there for ages.

I have a Marantz 6150 TT that I might put into use, is worth even buying a cartridge for this TT or should it find a new home instead ?
