  Budget set up
  Cayin A 50 T Tube amp
Von Schweikert Audio VR 2 Speaker
  Luxman P-100 Turntable
  Tara labs ?? Speaker cable
Escient Fireball MX 111 CD Player

Budget set up
Not having the ability, ($$$), to move into the Carey Audio, Conrad Johnson, Wilson Audio neighborhood, this is what I have put together. The Luxman, fitted with a Clear Audio cardtridge sounds very nice. System is in a 22x23 room, vaulted ceilings. I am surprised at the sound produced by the Cayin and the VR2's are pretty amazing for the price. Just curious what you guru's think of this low budget system.

Budget setup? You still paid some coin for your equipment, and Cayin makes great stuff, good choice. What type of music do you listen to?

Yeah...you're not losing much with the Von Schweikerts. Excellent speakers. Unless you crave a monstrous floorstanding monitor.

Mherzog, my wife and I listen to lots of classic jazz, (Miles, Monk, Adderly and such), as well as classic rock, classical ... we listen to lots of things. My wife being a music fan as well makes it easy to justify equipment : )

Afc, for some reason, (audiophilitis?), I keep thinking I am missing something by not tweeking the system. That includes, do Nolas sound better than the VS'or does a Music Hall table outdo the Luxman? Silly, huh?

Updated changes!!
NAD BEE 375 replaces Cayin, (huge difference on the VS')
Added ClearAudio Emotion / Maestro combo
WOW is the only way to describe what I hear now, simply amazing! Yes, no longer "budget"
